About the Artist

I’m Albert Hennipman, an artist, creative connector and founder of Huis van Betekenis in Utrecht. I draw, print and bring people and ideas together. In 2026, my book Free Your Bird took flight — an invitation to stay curious about the world around you. Question it, shake things up or fall in love with it. Whatever feels right to you.

I hand-printed the illustration for my book cover on a press in a printmaking studio. Now it’s taking on a new life as the image that brings the collection together. The same image taking flight once again — this time across sixteen T-shirts.

For me, it’s all about sharing ideas, exploring new directions and making room for everyone to be themselves — while letting others do the same. Because together, we can create things none of us could have imagined alone.

Free your bird. Let your imagination fly, and let others fly too.

About the Takeover

Het Huis van Betekenis is a vibrant illustration hub and creative sanctuary from Utrecht where established names and fresh, upcoming artists connect. This autumn and winter, they are joining forces with Katoenclub for an exclusive seasonal takeover.

Guided by the theme ‘Free Your Bird’, sixteen creators embraced pure analogue craftsmanship using pens, markers, and pencils. Challenged to channel their inner bird, they created a refreshing tribute to artistic freedom, authenticity, and self-expression. These shirts invite you to break away from conventions, embrace who you are, and spread your own wings. Perfect as a personal statement piece, or as a unique, thoughtful gift for the upcoming holidays.
